I have recently fallen in love with pink iridescent highlight shades that have been trending all over the beauty industry. I was never one to wear highlighter on my cheekbones because I find a lot of the time they accentuate my pores, but lately I’ve been on the hunt for the right shade and formula to give me that ethereal glow.
I’ve learned that pink holographic shades look best on my skin tone without looking too colorful for daytime wear; I actually think these shades look better than any golden or champagne color would!
Stila Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in Transcendence
This formula is so unique! The texture is moussy and putty-like! This is a great highlight for a subtle holographic glow–nothing too vibrant or in your face though. I found the formula to not accentuate my pores and it actually looks very pretty on the skin. If you like a bright glow, this one is not for you, but if you want a subtle pink shine I think you will enjoy this one.
Kat Von D Alchemist Palette shade Pink Opal
Pink Opal in this palette has the most perfect coloring for what I’m looking for. It’s seriously everything I want in a highlight color, however I found that this really emphasized the texture on my skin, and I could really only use it as an inner corner highlight, or cheek topper (on a good skin day).
Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Supernova
Talk about glow! This formula is the most intense when it comes to pigmentation. It’s a loose powder highlight that surprisingly doesn’t look bad on textured skin. As opposed to the KVD shade, I love the formula of this powder, but I’m not a fan of the color. The shade comes out too blue on my face, so I probably won’t be reaching for this highlight on a day to day basis. Nonetheless, it’s a fabulous highlight, and I highly recommend trying out other shades that might interest you since the formula is so incredible!
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst
I’ve saved my favorite face highlight for last! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Prismatic Amethyst. The color is a beautiful iridescent pink shade that compliments my skin tone, the powder itself is finely milled and applies like a dream on my skin, almost hiding my imperfections! I wear this highlight almost everyday on my face, and I’m so happy BECCA decided to jump on the holographic band wagon because now I have my ideal highlight shade!
NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Craving
I decided to throw this duo in because the highlight side of this palette I use on my nose everyday, and it definitely has reflex of pink shades in it. I just learned today actually that it’s described on NARS website as a seashell pink, which is right up my alley. I like this for my nose because it’s not too colorful and won’t look odd highlighted on the tip of my nose. There isn’t a day that goes by where I forget to put this on!
